FAQ
Questions, answered
Is Innocent Ink on sale?
Not yet. We are preparing the first batch. Join the waitlist and you will get one email when it is ready, with the full ingredient list and the lab report.
Is it FDA approved?
No, and no tattoo ink is. The FDA has not approved any color additive for injection into the skin. We will follow the FDA's guidance for tattoo ink makers and register with the FDA before the first sale.
What is it made from?
Our black is carbon from sustainably harvested hardwood charcoal in a plant-based carrier. Earth tones come from natural mineral clays. Every ingredient will be printed on the label.
Does it contain plastic?
No. We do not use acrylic or other plastic binders, and our pigments are not the industrial colors made for paint or plastics.
Can I be allergic to it?
Yes, anyone can react to any ink, including natural ones. If you have allergies or a skin condition, talk to your doctor first and ask your artist for a patch test.
Which colors will there be?
We start with black and grey wash. Earth tones follow. A color joins the line only after it passes independent testing.
I am a tattoo artist. How do I get samples?
Join the waitlist and choose "I'm a tattoo artist" or "I run a studio". Studios on the list get first access to sample bottles.
